Confirmation Volunteer Opportunities
Each of our varying confirmation experiences for Bethel youth involves parents and other adults as leaders as follows:
6th Grade Connections meets every other Wednesday night starting in September. A team of parents and Bethel’s Director of Youth lead this fun, interactive learning experience designed to connect the elementary and middle school segments of our longer and later confirmation programming, the 4th & 5th CAT classes and 7th - 9th confirmation classes.
Traditional confirmation classes are offered to all 7th - 9th grade students every Wednesday evening from 7:00 - 8:00 pm during the school year from September through March. Classes start with a large group presentation by the class teacher. Students are then divided into small groups for discussion, which is led by parents and other adult volunteers. Discussion questions are provided by the confirmation teacher.
Confirmation Crossroads is a series of evening classes for Bethel’s soon-to-be confirmed 10th grade youth. The classes are held in the fall of the year leading up to their rite of confirmation service to create a visual display of their individual faith statement. Their work is then displayed on their Confirmation day. Youth are assisted in this process by Bethel adults and parents.
Each of the above confirmation experiences require a short time commitment and are a wonderful way for adults to connect with our Bethel youth. Please contact the Director of Youth Ministries for more information or to volunteer. See the 6th Grade Connections & Confirmation calendars for schedule information.
