Alternative Giving Fair
Bethel’s annual Alternative Giving Fair (AGF) begins on Sunday, November 20 and runs through December 11. How meaningful is it to both giver and receiver to know that we can, through our giving, share with someone in need here or around the world? The Mission and Justice Committee is encouraging these REAL gifts that support those who have unmet needs. The Bethel Alternative Giving Fair, now in its 14th year, is a great opportunity for Bethel Lutheran Church members and guests to share gifts ranging from a $1 to a $500 donation that will improve the lives of people who would genuinely benefit from our giving. And that gift can be given during the holidays in honor of someone else who you love!
We urge you to read through the 2021 Bethel Alternative Giving Fair booklet. Bethel members will receive this booklet in the mail and booklets can also be found in Bethel’s East entrance. The booklet is designed especially for Bethel using projects from ELCA Good Gifts, Charity Water, YWAM, Isaiah Project, Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry (whose founders are Bethel members) and Alternative Gifts International - a national ministry that focuses on finding projects to support through local church giving fairs. Bethelites can carefully and prayerfully select one or more categories that are priced right for your family and for your designated receiver. For the convenience of Bethel members, free Christmas greeting cards will be available to send along to your designated receiver with an insert explaining the gift and the purpose of your giving.
We hope you join the movement toward meeting needs with gifts that make a real difference in the quality of life for another human being. Bethel is so delighted to offer this AGF opportunity to our community once again! Thank you for your generosity!
You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 2 Corinthians 9:11
